mark whitcher

Hi.

My name is Mark Whitcher. I am a designer, illustrator, and web developer located in Pensacola, Florida.

For thirteen years (1994 – 2007) I worked as a designer for A Beka Book, one of the worlds largest Christian textbook publishers. A Beka Book also produces the JoyfulLife Sunday School materials.

During my time at A Beka Book I had the opportunity to design many projects and do some writing as well. God used that time to teach me how to communicate effectively and gave me a passion for it.

In 2007 God called me to leave A Beka Book and build Net-at-hand, a hosted web-publishing system. Net-at-hand was created for the purpose of offering a simple means for people to create a website without learning a complicated system.

My calling

I grew up in ministry. My dad was a pastor who was later called to Mexico as a missionary. My brother serves as a missionary helping U.S. churches start hispanic ministries. My sister and her husband are on deputation to start Hispanic works here in the states.

God did not call me to preach or be in a public ministry. I am very much a “behind the scenes” person; my calling is to sit at a desk and use the tools that God has given me to further His kingdom.

I want to take the talents that God has given me for effective communication and use them to help missionaries create websites that are a help to their ministry. That is what this site is all about. I hope you will find it useful and helpful.
